Wrestling With God

About every 4-6 months I go through a season where I feel stuck. It usually passes in a week or two. There have been times when it lasted a long time though. Months even.
When was the last time you felt truly stuck? Like you were caught between where you are and where you want to be, between what you know and what you wish you understood?
Maybe it comes from wrestling with anxiety, doubt, or fear. Maybe you’re caught in the tension between wanting more and feeling like you already have too much on your plate. Or perhaps you’re trying to trust God, but let’s be real—it’s hard when life feels like it’s pulling you in a million different directions.
If any of that sounds familiar, I’ve got something for you.
We’re launching a brand-new sermon series called “Wrestling With God”—and trust me, you don’t want to miss this.

This series isn’t about easy answers. It’s not about quick fixes or pretending life isn’t messy. It’s about learning to pay attention to the tension—because sometimes, God isn’t trying to change your circumstances. Sometimes, He’s using the struggle to change you.
That’s not what we always want to hear.
We pray for relief, but what if the wrestling is part of the transformation? What if the struggle is making you into the person God created you to be? What if the hardest moments in life are the ones that redirect your attention to Him?
That’s what this series is all about.
Each week, we’ll dive into different struggles—the ones we all face but don’t always talk about—and explore what God’s Word says about how to navigate them.
It’ll be real, honest, and full of hope.
Why This Series Matters (and Why You Should Be There)
Life is complicated. We live in a world where we’re constantly bombarded with distractions, expectations, and pressures we weren’t meant to carry alone. Sometimes, we don’t even realize how much we’re struggling until we’re completely exhausted—spiritually, emotionally, and even physically.
That’s why we need this.
Wrestling With God is a chance to stop running from the hard stuff and start paying attention to what God might be doing in the struggle. It’s about shifting our focus from fixing our circumstances to allowing God to shape our hearts.
Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming:
Wrestling With Comparison – Navigating the Digital World and the Fear of Missing Out
Ever feel like your life isn’t measuring up? Social media has a way of making us believe we’re always one step behind—not as successful, not as happy, not as fulfilled as everyone else seems to be. This week, we’ll talk about how to shift our focus from what we lack to the unshakable hope we have in Christ.
Wrestling With Temptation – Guarding Your Eyes and Heart in a Digital World
We live in an age where everything is at our fingertips—for better or worse. The internet, TV, and social media can be incredible tools, but they can also lead us into temptation, comparison, and anxiety. How do we protect our hearts in a world full of distractions? This week, we’ll talk about what it means to guard our minds, filter our influences, and stay spiritually strong.
Wrestling With Parenting – The Tension of Raising Kids
If you’re a parent, you know the struggle is real. Are you doing enough? Are you guiding them the right way? Are you making the right decisions? Parenting is one of the most beautiful and challenging roles in life, and this week, we’ll dive into God’s wisdom on raising children in a world that pulls them in so many directions.
Wrestling With Shame – Trusting God Can Forgive You
Have you ever felt like you’ve messed up too much for God to truly forgive you? Like maybe His grace is for other people, but not for you? This week, we’re going to wrestle with that tension and discover the power of God’s mercy. Spoiler alert: You are not beyond His love.
Wrestling With Scarcity – Financial Tension and a Mindset of Lack
Money. It’s one of the biggest stressors in life. Whether you’re worried about paying the bills, saving enough, or just feeling like there’s never enough, financial tension is real. But what if God wants us to stop obsessing over what we don’t have and start trusting Him with what we do? This week, we’ll talk about how to replace a mindset of scarcity with a mindset of trust and provision.
Wrestling With Commitment – The Desire to Make an Impact vs. an Overloaded Schedule
You want to do good. You want to make a difference. But if you’re honest, your schedule is overflowing, and you’re barely holding it together. Sound familiar? This week, we’ll explore how to say yes to God’s calling without saying yes to everything.
What to Expect
Now, if you’re thinking, This sounds great, but what if I don’t have all the answers?—good news: you don’t have to.
This series is for everyone—whether you’ve been in church your whole life or you’re just starting to explore faith.
You can expect:
✅ A welcoming space where you can be real about your struggles
✅ Engaging messages that connect Scripture to real-life challenges
✅ Practical steps to help you wrestle well and grow through it
✅ A community of people who will walk with you through the ups and downs
Why You Should Invite Someone
Think about someone in your life who’s wrestling right now. A friend, a coworker, a family member—someone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or just lost in the tension of life.
This series is for them, too.
Sometimes, the greatest gift we can give someone is the reminder that they’re not alone. And who knows? Your invitation might be the first step toward a life-changing encounter with God.
So, who will you invite?
